Disclaimer: I am writing on The Mass Box because I was sent one month for one child for free, and my kids and I truly enjoyed the contents. I am not getting paid to write this (except for the value of the Box itself); it is my own views and opinion.
What is the Mass Box?
The Mass Box is a craft-centered box sent to you each month with activities to do and read for each Sunday of the month. You simply sign up, get mailed a box, and enjoy Gospel themed crafts on your kitchen table.
The crafts are all assembled with instructions so you can get to it without too much prep work, which is great for moms like me with 3 active little ones! They recommend the crafts for ages 5-8, but my kids are all under 4 and enjoyed them just the same (with a lot more supervision from mom, of course).
What Do You Get in a Mass Box?
As I mentioned a bit before, you get 4 (or 5, depending on the number of Sundays/Holy Days in the month) designated crafts in a kit. Each craft is packed separately in its own baggie, with all the materials needed. With our kit, we received a mobile craft, a stress ball craft (probably our favorite!), a placemat craft, and a coin purse craft. They have crafts geared toward each Sunday’s reading.
You also get a Superbook DVD each month with the Mass Box. We haven’t watched ours yet, but it is there if I ever need a rainy day fallback. 😊

There are two main Mass Box options. The Mass Box and Mass Box lite. Each box comes with options for multiple children.
Mass Box – all the things I mentioned above in the original Mass Box

Mass Box Lite – they include the most complex craft in this box (you get just one craft/month if you fee like 4 is too many!), a Superbook DVD, and access to online resources and materials. This price goes down quite a bit since you don’t need ALL the crafts.

Our Experience with Mass Box
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with The Mass Box. Shipping was fast, the crafts were packed neatly, and everything was super easy to make and set up.
They included plenty of materials, like extra-long string and embroidery thread, enough gel beads, and extra tape stickers. The materials needed from home were all super common, like scissors, water, and other easy to find materials.
And on top of that, the kids really enjoyed making most of them.
With the coin purse craft, they helped poke the holes out to put the string into, and then grabbed the string and pulled tight after each time we threaded it through.
They loved helping to create the balloon stress balls, waiting for the gel beads to expand, and holding the paper funnel for me. There was a lot of, “wait, we’re not ready for that yet!” going on as well!
The placemat craft was super nice because my kids are pretty excited about stickers and coloring so that one was great for them. We will have to take turns using it at the table, but so far no one has fought over it.
The pretty heart mobile that reminded us to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul and others as well hangs over our kitchen table as a great reminder of God’s love and commandments. They had some auntie help on this one, so mom was able to take more pictures!
Is the Mass Box worth it?
Yes. For one, it takes the work out of preparing a craft for your family/kids. Two, it saves you time and money. Three, it is faith-focused so you aren’t just creating slime or something else that you will regret making later.
Overall, I recommend Mass Box to anyone, especially since winter is coming up and indoor time will be increased and crafts are often needed to keep your kids engaged. As mentioned before, ages 5-8 are ideal, but if your older kids still enjoy crafts or the younger ones are eager to try, it would still be great for them!
I love that they take into account how children are mostly tactile with their learning and need to touch and feel things to learn from it. The Mass Box makes the job of introducing them to the Gospel and what goes on at Mass pretty easy.

All in all, a super great idea and a faith-filled, fun way to incorporate kids’ crafts into your weekly or monthly family time. I also enjoyed it when my mom let us paint or do other crafts, something I still enjoy doing today. So to be able to pass on the love of creativity and exploration to your children will be priceless!!
